The really poor weather on the day for the 2017 had a huge effect on the event, but that dampen the spirts and didn't stop many coming along and enjoying the many FREE attractions and activitiees on offer. 2018 promised to be bigger and better than ever (if the weather allows) so we might exceed the massive success of 2016 when we had 7000 children attending!

What is Playday?

Playday is the national day for play, traditionally held on the first Wednesday in August 10am - 3pm.

Now in its 30th year, Playday is the biggest play sector event in the UK, and possibly Europe! As well as a celebration of children's right to play, Playday is a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children's lives. Playday is coordinated by Play England, in partnership with Play Wales, Play Scotland and PlayBoard Northern Ireland

For more information visit the National Playday website; http://www.playday.org.uk

Apex Park Playday 2016 was another huge success with record visitor numbers

The free Apex Park Playday held on Wednesday 3rd August 2016 despite some pretty windy weather. The organisers esitmate 7000 children attend this years event - and that's not counting the adults!

Whilst everyone involved hopes Playday 2017 can go ahead the organising committee rely on obtaining grants and sponsorship to run the event. If you or your business would like to support or sponsor Playday 2017 please contact organiser Rosie Pike via 07867967087 or rosiepike47@gmail.com.

This year’s activities included model boats, inflatables, a climbing wall, drumming, facepainting, zorbs, rugby-tots and table tennis amongst many others! Playday also allows families to spend quality time together having a picnic and exploring one of Sedgemoor’s best-known and loved parks.
