On Wednesday 30th May, the Friends of Apex Park hosted an ‘Apex Rocks’ children’s colouring and painting activity within the park during the half term holidays. This free event allowed supervised children to ‘drop in’ between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to express their creativity and there was over 40 children that took part in either colouring or painting rocks.
The children loved decorating their rocks, as well as some young at heart adults, and many were hid around Apex Park for others to find. Decorated rocks displayed personal messages, names, even football teams as well as the new ‘Apex Park Rocks’ facebook page. This is so when people find one, they can then upload a photo onto the facebook page so people can see if theirs has been found.
All rocks that weren’t collected due to them still drying have now been hidden around Apex Park.
The Friends of Apex Park would like to thank the parents for their generous donations that were received on the day. This will be put towards future events in Apex Park.
